Jesus Christ’s intimate invitation to you is to be:
·
His
Ambassadors:
o
2 Corinthians
5:17-21: Therefore, if anyone
is in Christ, she is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all
things have become new. Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to
Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that
is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their
trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. Now
then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we
implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God. For He made Him who knew
no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in
Him.
§ He has fully equipped you, the moment you were baptized in the Holy
Spirit…right there He filled you afresh with Himself.
§ If you feel today that you are empty and dry; confess, yield, and ask
to be empowered again – you have nothing to lose but your depression and defeat
§ 2 Corinthians 4:6-7: For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath
shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in
the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this
treasure in earthen vessels that the Excellency of the power may be of God, and
not of us.
·
You need not fear the how…remember Who
is with you…..
o
Luke 21:15:
…for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be
able to contradict or resist.
o
Matthew 10:19-20:
But when they deliver you up, do not worry about how or what you should speak.
For it will be given to you in that hour what you should speak; for it is not
you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.
·
How do you do this….just live your life
following His intimate instructions and you will be a Living Epistle:
o
2 Corinthians 3:2-6: You are our epistle written in our
hearts, known and read by all men; clearly you are an epistle of Christ,
ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not
on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart. And we have
such trust through Christ toward God. Not that we are sufficient of ourselves
to think of anything as [being] from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from
God, who also made us sufficient as
ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the
letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
o
John 6:63: It is the Spirit who gives life; the
flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are
life.
·
Jesus said to be great we must learn
to be the servant of all….an ambassador is a servant… and servants live to give
themselves away….pouring out their very lives for the sake of others.
o
1 Corinthians 9:19-27: For though I am free from all men, I have made
myself a servant to all, that I might win the more; and to the Jews I became as
a Jew, that I might win Jews; to those who are under the law, as under the law,
that I might win those who are under the law; to those who are without law, as
without law (not being without law toward God, but under law toward Christ),
that I might win those who are without law; to the weak I became as weak, that
I might win the weak. I have become all things to all men, that I might by all
means save some. Now this I do for the
gospel's sake, that I may be partaker of it with you. Do you not know that
those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way
that you may obtain it. And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in
all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable
crown. Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who
beats the air. But I discipline my body
and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself
should become disqualified.
·
Last but not least, He has equipped you as a
soldier.
o
He
is your Captain, guiding you with His eye, so stand fast beloved and fight this
good fight until the fullness of the Gentiles come in and we can go home to be
with Him.
o
1 Timothy 2:1-13:
You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the
things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to
faithful men who will be able to teach others also. You therefore must endure hardship as a good
soldier of Jesus Christ. No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the
affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier. And
also if anyone competes in athletics, he is not crowned unless he competes
according to the rules. The hardworking
farmer must be first to partake of the crops.
Consider what I say, and may the Lord give you understanding in all
things. Remember that Jesus Christ, of the seed of David, was raised from the
dead according to my gospel, for which I suffer trouble as an evildoer, even to
the point of chains; but the word of God is not chained. Therefore I endure all
things for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation which
is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
This is a faithful saying: For if we died with Him, We shall also live
with Him. If we endure, We shall also
reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us. If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.
